Profiles and shaped wire
We produce customized profiles out of round wire or hot rolled steel strip on high-performance profile tandem cold rolling mills. Tried and tested rolling and heat treatment processes ensure constant dimensional tolerances of the respective contour of these profiles.
Our strength lies in the diversity of our profiles: From simple to complex and highly asymmetrical profiles with cross-sections of up to 150 mm² (0.23in²), at Waelzholz we produce profiles which can be used in many demanding applications in a wide range of industries.
Be it for hinges or door lock profiles on furniture pieces, safety-related fastening elements in motor and mechanical engineering or ski and snowboard edges – Waelzholz provides the exact solution for any application and any product in top quality, always perfectly tuned to your product and process requirements.
Flat wire
DC-grade steel, spring steel, steels for hardening and tempering, and case-hardening steel are used in the production of flat wire products from Waelzholz. In addition to long lengths without weld seams, the shape of the edges can be freely designed as desired. This creates a wide range of variations for numerous different areas of application, such as for high-precision jigsaw blades.
Waelzholz’s hardened and tempered flat wire products stand out for their unparalleled durability while simultaneously maintaining bending uniformity. The reason for this is the particularly fine-grained and uniform microstructure, which is created via Waelzholz’s proprietary, patented conductive high-speed hardening and tempering process. In this process, the material is heated to temperatures well above 800 °C in a fraction of a second and then rapidly cooled again.
